Inspired by starshine
Who is actually a person. One I really need to meet someday, because she totally rocks. She also takes some amazing photos, which you can see on the WD. So, she reminded me that I have some photos from Ireland that I am actually kind of proud of. I used to be strictly a point and shoot girl, but lately I am trying to think more about composition and colour and light. (Geez, any minute now I am going to break into a Sondheim song.)
So, here are some of my efforts. My personal favourite is the last one.
Steps at Howth

Shimmering Sands

Hydrangeas

Yellow Stairway

These are awesome! I love the last one too. I love taking pictures of things that people look at everyday and I try to see them in a new light. I only wish I didn't have such a cheap camera. I keep telling myself "someday". Oh, and I'm not overly fond of taking people pictures.

Cool photos! Oddly, I like the second one best :-)
Helen at work
Thanks ladies! Helen, I really like the second one, too. It was taken on the beach at Inch, just after a rainstorm. That is actually the sand, shimmering with water. I am pleased at how well the camera caught the light.
Cindy, I have a Canon, which is just slightly higher than basic. I have never bothered to figure out what half the settings are, although I think I need to make an attempt. This holiday, I found that nearly all of my photos lacked people; I don't do people terribly well. They always end up with red eyes and badly framed.
I have added some titles to the photos.
Great photos!

We like the last one a lot.
Also, the second one.
And the first one.
And the third one.
Those four are our favorites.

I would hang those on my wall, for sure.
